Neuro- Oncology Nurse Specialist –Cancer Care Cymru

Claire has over 16 years’ oncology experience and has held a number of roles including senior staff nurse with specialist skills in chemotherapy.  Claire’s current role is Cancer Care Cymru Neuro-Oncology Nurse Specialist.  She is based at Velindre Hospital and works alongside Dr O Tilsley and his team providing information care and support to patients with a brain tumour, and their families. Claire is regarded as an expert nurse in this area throughout the UK. She also leads a number of project groups looking to improve treatments for this group of patients. Her group work about producing steroid use guidelines was accepted for the United Kingdom Oncology Nursing Society Conference. Claire has recently completed the Supplementary Prescribing qualification.
