Welfare Rights Officer

Diane Smith joined Cancer Care Cymru in May 2007 as a Welfare Rights Officer.
Her role is to assist patients in claiming any benefits that they may become entitled to on their diagnosis. This may be anything from simple claims through to complex issues that need to be taken to Appeal.
The benefits system is a minefield and Diane will take the pressure of the patients by acting on their behalf.
Diane has worked within the benefits area for the past 12 years in Local Authority and then a National Charity working with people with sight loss.
